If you’re ever in central California and have an hour or two to kill, get off the 101 for a short distance and drop by Solvang—also known as Little Denmark, because that’s what it exactly is. Walk around. See the Hans Christian Andersen museum. Have a pancake at Paula’s. Admire that over-hyped windmill. Do Danish stuff. I can’t imagine anyone not liking that.
