Q&A
manpreetbath asked: dslr recommendations :)?
I’m not really updated with the most recent or best DSLRs out there now, and I’d be biased as I’ve only used Canon. If you’re going for that brand, too, then great! For the real pro camera nothing beats the 5D Mark III (or II, I don’t know which is better) but either is quite expensive. I myself have been eying the 60D ever since it came out because of the flippity screen. Also the T4i is catching up. I hear it’s better. Then the 6D, which I think is the one rumored to be the lightest of all the full frames Canon has released. You can do some product comparisons over at the Canon site. Good luck! :)
Anonymous asked: Hello. I wonder where did you get the background from your last theme. I really liked that. Would you mind if I use it too? Though I have no idea where to get it. Thank You!
You mean the grainy green one? I made it in Photoshop. Sure, you can download it here. :)
Anonymous asked: i love your blog so much. i love every pictures that you took. idk i just love the effect of those pictures. did you edit all of them? anyway, i love your new theme too but your previous theme is more awesome for me hehe
Aw, thank you! Yes, I edit 99% of them. I think there’s only one or two that was uploaded SOOC. I kind of miss the old theme too but I’m in a minimalistic mood right now, haha.
Anonymous asked: Did someone already use your photos without permission? How should we handle that?
Someone even went beyond the usual stealing and even made up a Facebook page saying s/he was me and then uploading all my stuff there (old stuff from Flickr anyway). It was a few of my friends who thought that was my account who brought it to my attention. Naturally I reported and blocked him/her. It’s easy on Facebook, they take those kind of matters a little more seriously than Tumblr.
Speaking of Tumblr—some kid stole my “Spin Madly On” theme and submitted it to the Theme Garden as their own, only taking out the tree header and replacing it with something else to make it look “different.” I confronted her about it and she had some devious story about how she didn’t even do it herself, it was her cousin or something, and she was just the one who submitted it. I called bullshit anyway, but Tumblr didn’t take the theme down after a few calm (and then angry) emails.
The truth is, you can’t find and confront and report everyone who steals your photos. An even harsher truth is that not every thief you will confront will take your work down and apologize. I learned that it’s the price you pay for being an artist in the Internet generation. Even watermarks don’t help anymore. So best you can do is just roll with it. Take action if you can and when the opportunity presents itself, but don’t go all paranoid over something as inevitable as that.
Anonymous asked: Hi! I’ve followed you on Twitter and I was hoping I can borrow that Photoshop Action you’ve posted a long while ago? My Twitter is private so I don’t think you’ll be able to read it if I mentioned you. Thanks!
If you tell me your Twitter username, I will be able to send you a DM there as long as you’re following me. You don’t have to mention me or anything, just drop your username in my askbox. :)
Anonymous asked: Marg, how do I make a previous and next buttons like yours? :)
Like what? What’s different with my previous-next buttons?
inkycherie asked: To be 22 and to have seen (most of) the world. Can I be you for a few days? <3
Sure! The territory comes with homesickness, though. Haha. And it’s not even most of the world! Four countries and not even half of the fifty states! I’ve got a long way to go.
Anonymous asked: blog code?
I…don’t know what you’re talking about.
