Q&A

dearlittlewallflower asked: I just want you to know your tumblr is very lovely and it makes me happy like the smell of new books does.

A high praise! Thank you! :)

Anonymous asked: post/44862599878/ ; Hello there darling! c: Does the sky often look like that most of the time in Washington? It looks so beautiful, wow.

Yes! At least during the past almost-two months that I’ve been staying here. I guess it’s going to be finer skies during the spring/summer, but yeah, right now even if the sun’s out, the clouds take over most of the time.

Anonymous asked: I enjoy your mixes on 8tracks :) we have the same music taste! can I make a request? my girlfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and I was wondering if you can make a mix for that kind? sorry for bugging! thanks if you’d say yes :)

I’ve been at work on the mix as soon as I read your request! Thank you for the idea! I’ve been wanting to create a new mix lately.

I’m afraid I don’t have much long-distance songs, though, but I managed to gather a few. :)

Track list:

  1. “Days & Days” - Camera Can’t Lie
  2. “Contagious” - Boys Like Girls
  3. “Leaving on a Jet Plane” - Chantal Kreviazuk
  4. “Summer Cat” - Billie The Vision & The Dancers
  5. “Wake Up” - Coheed and Cambria
  6. “Jet Lag” - Simple Plan feat. Natasha Bedingfield
  7. “A Plain Morning” - Dashboard Confessional
  8. “Stay Where I Can See You” - The Starting Line
  9. “If It Means a Lot to You” - A Day to Remember feat. Sierra Kusterbeck
  10. “Gotta Have You” - The Weepies
  11. “Our Song” - Plain White T’s

“SEA PRIDE” THEME!
The layout I’m using at the moment is now available for installation! I didn’t submit it to the Theme Garden due to the might-be, might-not-be similarities with Sitjin Sitjn goddamn it Stijn’s other theme, but it’s alright!
Some fine notes you ought to read before you install:
One thing you need to be prepared for is that once you paste the codes and update the preview, it’s not going to look much. There would be no background and it would seem flat. And that’s OK! Just save it, close the Customize page, and then open it again. Now it’ll look more decent. Closing and reopening the Customize page is, I’m afraid, necessary for you to be able to fully customize the theme.
The background will be different, but it would still be nice. You can upload your background directly from your computer. (On my next post, I’m giving out free backgrounds you can use!)
Your profile icon will not show up as sidebar image. To add the sidebar image, upload the photo you want somewhere (I’d recommend the Tumblr static file upload), get its URL, and then paste that URL in the textbox labeled “Sidebar image URL” found under the Appearance options of your theme.
I would say that uploading a sidebar image is kind of necessary, as it would allow your viewers to go back to your home page upon clicking it.
Twitter feed is also available, and for my own minimalistic tastes, I have set the limit to just one Tweet at a time. Just type in your Twitter username under Appearance and you’re good to go!
Since so many people loved the “Currently reading” box, I’ve also included it in! Under the Appearance options, first check the box saying “Show reading book.” Then, upload the image URL of the book cover (just Google it) and paste it in the textbox marked “Book cover.” Then type in the “book title” and “book author” in their respective textboxes. No need to go through the codes just to update your books! :)
Lotsa lotsa social media links provided.
I’m sorry to say that this theme does not support high-res images and infinite scrolling. It just won’t work aesthetically-speaking.
To install, here we go! (I’m so fucking hyper right now.)
Go here and copy everything.
Go to Customize (that is, Dashboard > little gear button on top > select the blog you want to install the theme at > Customize).
Click “Edit HTML.”
Erase all the codes in there. Paste the new ones you copied.
Click “Update preview.” It’s gonna look shit, but don’t worry!
Save it, and then, without doing anything else, close the Customize page.
Re-open Customize page. Now it looks better!
Customize your stuff!
Save and be awesome.
I just want to thank everyone for liking this, as I love it myself. I was to postpone uploading it but I just got a job and I also just got my first car so I’m practically happy right now and I wanted to share the love. Enjoy! :)

“PAPERWEIGHT” THEME

OK, so the old theme is here. It’s nothing fancy, as I said, because the sidebar had to be reconstructed into something everyone can use (no mustache-bearing profile IDs or little bits of stationery). It’s too simple for my taste, and I really didn’t want to publish it as a public theme but people have been insisting.

Note: “Paperweight” won’t be available through the Theme Garden. This post would be the only way to install it.

To install:

  1. Go here and copy everything.
  2. Go to Customize (that is, Dashboard > little gear button on top > select the blog you want to install the theme at > Customize).
  3. Click “Edit HTML.”
  4. Erase all the codes in there. Paste the new ones you copied.
  5. Click “Update preview.” If everything looks good, Save. Voilà.

I hope everyone is happy now!

The Code To That Theme

Due to much nagging I have finally decided to release the theme I’m using right now which is so lazily called “that grainy gray theme” in my head. I’m not submitting this to the Tumblr Garden, so you cannot install this without that quick “Install” button that Tumblr provides. Hence, this post would only be the source for this theme’s codes.

Instructions to those who are not familiar with installing a theme without an “Install” button:

  1. Go to this link.
  2. Copy everything.
  3. Go to your blog’s Dashboard. That is, (http://www.tumblr.com/blog/YOURBLOGURL).
  4. In the right-side panel, click Customize Theme.
  5. Click the “Edit HTML” button. You will come upon your current theme’s HTML codes.
  6. Erase these codes.
  7. Paste the codes that you have copied from the above link.
  8. Update, see if it looks good.
  9. Save. Enjoy.
  10. Realize you want to edit some stuff in the theme and decide you want to bug the designer.

Has anyone heard of the new TV show (or so I think it’s new) called “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret?” I don’t really know what it’s about but ever since I’ve seen its commercial, a layout hatched to a plan. Yes, I am that weird. Modified his title a bit. (Disclaimer)
I started last night and ended up with this. I kind of liked it. Sort of a mix between the Todd layout and Tumblr’s optimized iPhone theme. Okay, bye.
