“My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” - Fall Out Boy

You all know this post is coming, you amazing creatures you.

So Fall Out Boy is back. Time to rewrite a bit of my About Me.

Thank God for Twitter though, right? I was sleeping late because I read The Lord of the Rings until four in the morning then in came on my Twitter feed a stream of people talking about “Save Rock and Roll” and all that stuff. I didn’t know what the hell it was. Then I read Pete and Brendon’s tweets and I’ve been hyperventilating ever since.

Anyway, I didn’t think I liked the new song the first time because of my annoyance with hip-hop, and it is a bit hip-hoppy and Cobra Starshippy (don’t deny it). Very unlike Fall Out Boy. But I’ve been listening to it on loop and…well, enough said.

They’re going to be in Seattle on June 19 (very, very ironic).

So that has been my morning.

Follow my Twitter if you want to be annoyed by a regular flow of Fall Out Boy-related tweets.

“Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy” - Vitamin String Quartet (instrumental cover)

I’ve discovered VSQ last June on Spotify and I still shit bricks whenever I hear a Fall Out Boy tribute from them. This is probably one of my favorites.

Lyric video of Fall Out Boy’s “Saturday,” created by Charli Prangley.

A few things:

  1. This video broke my heart, and those pieces broke into littler pieces, and those little pieces got blown away by a slight wind.
  2. I whimpered.
  3. So much justice Charli has put into this song. Someone call Pete Wentz and the rest of the guys and maybe this’ll snap them out of the stupidity trance they’ve been in ever since deciding about the breakup.
  4. Severe pounding in my chest right now.
  5. Please stand for your national anthem, Overcast Kids.
  6. Where the fuck is the Loop button. Every time you look for the Loop button and it’s nowhere to be found, every time you don’t need it it’s there… *still madly searching and also writing a very strong-worded letter to Vimeo for not providing a Loop button*
  7. Tumblr cannot contain this girl’s talents. I’m still wondering why her work isn’t receiving tens of thousands of recognition.
  8. Haven’t been this emotional since Mufasa died.

I didn’t get enough of this album on Spotify so I decided to finally buy it despite my long battle against denial.

Fall Out Boy—the Greatest Hits. Sorry for the fangirling…no, I’m not really sorry.

After all these years […] I’m still in love with these 3 other dudes. I will always take this to my grave.” —Andy Hurley, from album inset.

“Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying” - Fall Out Boy

From day one I talked about getting out
But not forgetting about
How my worst fears are letting out
He said, “Why put a new address
On the same old loneliness?”
When breathing just passes the time
Until we all just get old and die
Now talking’s just a waste of breath
And living’s just a waste of death
And why put a new address
On the same old loneliness?
And this is you and me
And me and you
Until we’ve got nothing left.
