“The Garden That You Planted” - Sea Wolf

Now, it’s only work
Each day bleeding into the next
Barely scraping by
I tire myself out just so I can rest
But rest, it rarely comes
And when it does, I cannot go home
Because it’s much too quiet
Seems that I’m not suited to being alone.

“Overjoyed” - Matchbox 20

And if you want, we’ll share this life
Anytime you need a friend,

I’m gonna be by your side
When nobody understands you,
Well, I do.

So maybe let me hold you, baby
Let me come over
I will tell you secrets God only knows
I cannot overstate it
I will be overjoyed.

:)

Taken again.

“You Suck At Love” - Simple Plan

Guess what, another game over
I got burned, but you’re the real loser
I don’t know why I wasted my time with you
You’re bad news, a history repeater
You can’t trust a serial cheater
You’re good at hooking up but you suck at love

You played me like an amateur
Then stabbed me like a murderer
I’m left for dead, another one of your victims
It’s not like you’re unpredictable
But your act is so believable
I know it’s nothing personal
It’s just business as usual
You’re good at what you do

Current on-loop song.

“Could It Be Another Change” - The Samples

The only time I feel good falling
Is when I’m falling fast and hard for you
I can’t tell if you are stalling
So if you are please tell me what to do

The only time I feel good sinking
Is when I’m sinking fast and deep for you
You caught me when I was winking
Now I think my winking days are through

Could it be another change
To come and rearrange?
Why can’t you just feel the way I do?

It’s nearing Valentine’s and sure, it’s to celebrate love (and Saint Valentine), but why can’t we heartbroken singles also use it to celebrate our closeted bitterness that we can’t let out the rest of the 364 days of the year? I mean, seriously. We’re always expected to be OK but we’re often lonely and Valentine’s Day, whether we admit it or not, will always be the salt on the wound.
So I made a mix on 8tracks to celebrate the cynicism and hatred for old loves and our loneliness. We can stop trying to be OK for this one day of the year. Give the brave face a rest, plug in Bridget Jones’ Diary, and pour hot fudge over a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. Screw the rest.
“Break Your Little Heart” - All Time Low
“Sending Postcards From A Plane Crash (Wish You Were Here)” - Fall Out Boy
“Dance Floor Anthem (I Don’t Want To Be In Love)” - Good Charlotte
“Misery” - Maroon 5
“King of Wishful Thinking” - New Found Glory feat. Patrick Stump
“That’s What You Get” - Paramore
“Catastrophe” - Forever The Sickest Kids
“Unwell” - Matchbox Twenty
“Gives You Hell” - The All-American Rejects
“Cold Hard Bitch” - Jet
“A Friendly Goodbye” - Bowling For Soup
“Loneliest Person I Know” - Splender
“A Decade Under The Influence” - Taking Back Sunday
“Do It Alone” - Sugarcult
“Trade Mistakes” - Panic! At The Disco
“Blue Skies” - Noah & the Whale
…Of course, ending with something optimistic.

“City” - Billie The Vision & The Dancers

This place ain’t familiar yet
But I’m sure I can fit in here
My neighbors stay up late at night
I like this big city atmosphere

On every wall around our block
There are posters that I like
There are major changes in the air
I can feel its heartbeat pump

And the wages I get from the cleaning job
Pays the rent but not much more
But it’s a halftime job and the afternoons are free
I think I like this city.

I have always pictured Seattle whenever I listen to this song. That sounds completely cheesy but when you’ve found the place, you’ve found the place. Everything else you do becomes corny by default.
